EMQG November 2020 Meeting Recap

 EMQG Meeting Minutes – November 11, 2020

Thanks to all of you who joined us on Zoom last week! It was great to see everyone.

‘Modern Fiesta’

Nela, Ken, and Janice named our QuiltCon Charity Quilt ‘Modern Fiesta.’ Ken finished the quilting, Jenny and Kathy finished the binding and sleeve, and Nela took photos to submit for QuiltCon. The final size is 58”x70.”

QuiltCon is entirely on-line this year. There are different viewing packages available, and remember that MQG membership is included with your EMQG membership. More QuiltCon info here.

EMQG Membership 2021

Ken will send 2021 membership forms in the mail to all current members. Please email us if you're interested in joining the EMQG next year and don't receive forms from Ken in the next couple of weeks. Because of the suspension of most of our overhead costs (our facility rental), we are decreasing our sliding-scale membership rates to $25-40 for 2021. Please mail your membership info back to the EMQG mailbox or mail directly to Linda Delaplain. We hope everyone stays with us for 2021. Enrollment forms are due back before the end of January.

Paint Chip Challenge

Ken will include paint chips for The Paint Chip Challenge. You can make anything you want, and include whatever fabrics you’d like, but the two colors sent should be the predominant colors in whatever you choose to make. The Paint Chip Challenge is due at the March 2021 meeting.

2021 Plans

Some ideas in the works for 2021:

- Art Masterpiece Challenge

- Ugly Fabric Challenge

- mini lessons and workshops

- Possible retreat or sew days via Zoom

Please let anyone on the board know if you have any other suggestions or requests

December 2020 Meeting

Please bring to the December 2020 meeting:

- a favorite quilty holiday gift or project (any theme or item – just something that you’ve enjoyed making or receiving as a gift)

- since we won’t have a potluck this year, we encourage members to bring a treat to enjoy during the meeting. Send us the recipe of what you’re making, and we’ll compile to share with the rest of the guild.
