EMQG September 2020 Meeting Recap

Thanks to all of our EMQG members who joined our Zoom meeting this month. We had to cancel our plans to meet at the park due to wildfire smoke, and appreciate everyone's pivot to meeting on-line.

Mystery Quilt

Ken and Janice shared the final layout of the Mystery Quilt. There are a few more blocks to complete before assembly. They are all made with Flying Geese or Half-Square Triangles.

Ken, Janice, and Linda shared their completed Mystery Quilt tops.

Ken emailed members with information about constructing the remaining blocks, and instructions on how to assemble the quilt. Note: for continuity with the rest of the quilts, please keep Q1 and Q6 in the same locations as the suggested layout, but feel free to be creative with the rest of the layout, if you'd like

Board Elections

Board elections will be held in October. Members are welcome to stand up for any position, and the Secretary and Photographer positions are definitely open. We do not have an official Nominating Committee this year, but feel free to talk to any board member if you're interested in stepping up for any role, or if you have any questions about responsibilities or time commitment.

Charity Quilt Blocks

Last reminder to submit any Charity Quilt blocks by Friday of this week. You can deliver to the EMQG mailbox at 1436 Willamette Street #185 (tell employees that it's for Nela).

Show and Tell

There were several great projects shared at the meeting by Diane, Kim, Jackie, Ann, and Linda Delaplain. Sharon sent in these photos to share (thank you, Sharon!):

Just for fun, John Lennon at a sewing machine.

Triangulated Quilt

We hope everyone is doing OK. We're so grateful for the connections and friendships we have within this group. The board will be in touch soon about October plans, including whether or not we can plan on another outdoor meet up or two while the weather allows.
