June 2019 Eugene MQG Meeting

Announcements:

Eugene/Corvallis Meet-up for June 22nd is cancelled.  Hopefully we can get together next summer!

August Meeting Swap:  Make and bring a project 12" or smaller for our swap at the August Guild meeting.  The August meeting is traditionally a potluck with show and tell time, but a swap will be fun to add.  The meeting will be held again at Sladden Park, address is 925 Cheshire Ave, Eugene.  Park either on N. Adams St or Cheshire Ave.

October 3-6 Retreat deposit is due now (June 12).  There is a preference and dietary restrictions form available to fill out so make sure you complete it if you have specific needs.  Currently the registration is full but Nela will make a wait list in case someone drops out.  Please contact EMQG if you have further questions.

Ken, EMQG member, is providing a free instruction in "AnglePlay(tm)" working with rulers that create elongated triangles.  This will be held on Saturday June 29th at Our Sewing Room, 448 Main St. Springfield, 10am-4pm. Bring some fabric and your sewing machines and have some fun!

Lane County Fair held July 24-28 is looking for entries into the textile category.  Please check for specific details at AtTheFair.com.  Entries are due July 2 if online or by mail, and in person during drop off days July 14-15, 2019.

Pioneer Quilter's Quilt Show, 'The Unbroken Thread', is being held in Cottage Grove Sept 19-21, and is also looking for quilts to show.  Go to http://pioneerquiltersquiltshow.blogspot.com.

Monthly Skill Demo:

Fusibles and adhesives by Linda.


Linda presented on different types of fusibles and adhesives.  She provided a handout of many choices and had most of them there for a demonstration in how they can be used.  Some of us especially liked the batting seam tape product!
