November 2018 Eugene MQG Meeting
We had another well attended sew day November 4th. Lots of fun working on projects and eating yummy treats, especially the truffles from Euphoria Chocolate Company!!
Slow Stitch had 3 participants who met for handwork. Don't forget it's the first Thursday of each month upstairs at the Market of Choice on 29th St. in Eugene.
Looking into potential options for quilt retreat locations...Nela has some calls out to check on new locations.
Traveling Quilt Bee:
WOW, what great traveling quilts we created!
We will plan to bring them again to the January Guild meeting, hopefully completed.
Announcements:
Mid Valley Quilt Guild Quilt Show April 18-20, 2019 Salem Armory. They contacted our guild and sent a flyer for their Fabracadabra quilt challenge, as well as information for anyone who wants to enter a quilt for showing. Please contact EMQG for a registration form for the quilt challenge if you are interested.
Our guild has been contacted by ShelterCare to ask if we would like to provide a quilt for their annual auction. Discussion about possibly having our Quilt Con 2019 quilt be donated to them. Ken offered to find a local quilt appraiser who might provide suggested monetary worth of the quilt when completed so it can be given to the organization to assist with their bidding. This also might be a marketing opportunity for our guild. Win-Win!
