July Meeting Roundup

Eugene Modern Quilt Guild ~ Minutes: July 13, 2016 (written by Malika)

Attendees: 22 members plus one guest. Two new members joined the EMQG prior to the meeting being called to order. Four members signed up for the Show and Tell segment of the meeting which included five quilts.

Skill Builder: Partial Seams
Nela Barrow presented the July Skill Building BOM with the objective of realizing that partial and y-seams are doable. The hand out and the Tutorial websites/videos should result in a framed Tilt-a-Whirl unfinished 16.5” block.

Bee Blocks created for Malika.

Donation Heart Blocks for Orlando MQG
The discussion of how we want to handle the Orlando donation blocks finally settled on placing the completed blocks in a package and mailing them to the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild for their use and distribution. Interested members are asked to make a 10" heart block using any color. Rainbow colors are encouraged. This pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew is simple and fast. Completed heart squares should be dropped off at Piece by Piece Quilt Shop before Monday, August 1st.
