EMQG February Meeting

Eugene Modern Quilt Guild General Meeting

Business and announcements:

Reminder that we have one more month for the Paint Chip Challenge. If you have lost your paint chip colors contact Ken as he has the color cards and can provide you with your colors. We’re looking forward to seeing the finished projects for this fun challenge at the March meeting.

Bonnie is working on our new challenge to be presented in March. Bonnie is compiling a list of ‘virtual tour’ museums. Guild members will pick a piece of art that speaks to them for inspiration. Then, in three months, we’ll have show and tell with the inspiration piece and the project inspired by the art. Bonnie will send links to the museums via email.

Ken is going to the Global Quilt Connection at end of the month and will share information and new knowledge with us in March.

Look for the email with instructions for the March calendar challenge block which will be a shamrock.

Quiltcon is coming up and registration is still open.

Ken announced the Board has decided to have a ‘virtual’ (Zoom) retreat on Saturday, March 20 from 9AM – 3PM. In the morning Ken will lead us in a project to make a chicken pin cushion. For the rest of the ‘retreat’ we will work on any projects while having some ‘company’ in our sewing rooms. There will be some prep for the pin cushion beforehand and Ken will send the pattern so watch for an email and Zoom invite.
