Jenny made a couple fabulous bags -- one to keep and one to swap at the PNW MQG Meetup

August Minutes

EDIT: Please see notes in red

August 14 Meeting Minutes

We met at Friendly Park for a lovely evening of good food and gorgeous quilts - the show n' tell was amazing!  Phyllis was our glorious presenter - thanks Phyllis!!

September's meeting at OSR will have a demo of fusible's and we will be making new name tags for those of us who don't have one or just would like to make a new one.  Tracy will be demonstrating.  Bring your favorite scraps for your name tag if you would like.  More to come on this, stay tuned.

Nelda has agreed to be the contact person for Sew Days.  She will get us on the calendar aiming for the 4th Saturday of the month and be the host person for those days.  Thanks Nelda!!
Note: We ARE on the calendar for the 4th Saturday sew day this month, which will be the 24th.  Nelda will not be available to be the "host" at that one, so if someone could be the contact person that would be great.  Leave a comment below please.

However, we will have a Sew Night next Wednesday, 8/21/2013 at the LGH (McNail Riley House aka little green house) from 6:30 to 8:30.  Bring your sewing supplies and a project to work on.  Bring a snack to share if you would like.  Parking is limited with 5 spots beside the house and more across the street in the fairgrounds lot.  A good time to work on a pillowcase for our upcoming swap.

Our swap for September is pillowcases, standard size.  Here are a link of tutorials:

Note:  These are just a sampling of pillowcase tutorials, if you have a favorite not listed here please leave a link in the comments below.

On a personal note, Kathleen has had another hip operation and is going a little stir crazy.  She would love to hear from you or have a visit.

A few ladies are off to the PNW MQG Meetup hosted by the PMQG this weekend in Portland.  Have fun ladies, can't wait to hear all about it!

Most importantly, we are still in the decision making process of making the big move to join the The Modern Quilt Guild or not.

We will discuss this more at upcoming meetings, but realize please that a formal decision has not been made at this point.  In the meantime if you would like to join as an individual you can do so at the MQG site.

Thanks again to all who have helped to make this guild what it is!

PS: Here it the link for Nelda's cat block for her bee month.
